How to Track Acne with Glowlytics

A step-by-step guide to using Glowlytics to monitor your acne, identify triggers, and measure the effectiveness of your skincare routine.

Tracking your acne over time is one of the most effective ways to understand what triggers your breakouts and what helps clear them. Glowlytics makes this easy with daily skin scans and an inflammation signal that quantifies acne severity on a consistent scale.

Step 1: Set Up Your Daily Scan Reminder

Go to your profile and enable the daily scan reminder. Consistency is key, scanning at the same time each day (morning before skincare is ideal) gives you the most accurate longitudinal data.

Step 2: Complete Your First Scan

Open the camera tab and follow the on-screen guide to position your face. The scan takes about 5 seconds and analyzes your inflammation, hydration, sun damage, elasticity, and structure signals.

Step 3: Log Your Products

After scanning, log the products you used that morning. Glowlytics correlates your product usage with your signal scores over time, helping you identify which ingredients are helping and which might be aggravating your skin.

Step 4: Review Your Inflammation Trend

In the reports tab, tap the inflammation signal to see your trend over the past 7, 30, or 90 days. Look for patterns, do your scores spike on certain days? Check if those days correlate with stress events, dietary choices, or new products.

Step 5: Consult the Evidence

Use the blog and glossary to understand what your scores mean and what the dermatology evidence says about effective acne treatments. Then bring your Glowlytics trend data to your next dermatologist appointment for a data-driven conversation.
